The Canandaigua Baseball Boosters are thrilled to launch the 2026 Preseason Sponsorship Campaign. This effort funds our Spring 2026 Florida trip, where our varsity team will compete at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex, room together as a team for the week, and play 4 to 5 high-level matchups against programs from across the United States.
Our players are proud to carry the Canandaigua name, and they will be contacting community businesses in the coming days about sponsorship opportunities. However, there’s no need to wait—business owners can fill out the Sponsor Interest Form at any time to get involved now.
A Legacy You Can Back
When you support Canandaigua Baseball, you’re aligning with one of the most storied high school programs in New York State. Here’s a snapshot of what makes this program special:
- We’ve won Section V Championships in 1940, 1991, 1995, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
- We were NYSPHSAA Far West Regional Champions in 2018 and 2019.
- Our team has earned multiple League (Finger Lakes / Monroe County) Championships across many decades.
- Some of our school records are truly impressive:
• Highest wins in a season: 25 (1999)
• Most consecutive wins in a season: 18 (1999)
• Best ERA in a season: 1.08 (2019) - Long ago, as far back as 1940, the team went 10–0 to secure its first Section V championship. That first title is still remembered as a foundational moment in CA baseball history.
- Archival records suggest that in 1871, Canandaigua Academy fielded a “Base Ball Nine” — making us among the earliest high school teams in New York.
We don’t just talk about tradition — we live it every season.
How Sponsorship Works & What You Get
1. Player Outreach
Varsity players will personally visit or reach out to businesses in our community to share sponsorship levels and benefits.
2. No Need to Wait
You may be called, but you don’t have to wait. Complete our Sponsor Interest Form now, and our Boosters team will follow up to lock in your sponsorship.
3. Recognition & Exposure
Depending on your sponsorship level, your business could receive:
- Logo or name placement on our season banners
- Recognition in annual program
- Mentions on social media and the CA Baseball website
- Local goodwill as a supporter of youth, athletics, and community
4. Direct Impact
Every dollar you contribute helps cover critical costs—travel, lodging, meals, field fees, equipment, uniforms, and more.
Aren’t school sports supposed to be free?
We get this question a lot—our pride is that Canandaigua is served by a public school system funded by tax dollars. But here are the details worth considering:
- Tax dollars cover the baseline. The school district typically provides the essentials: coaches’ salaries, field maintenance, buses for local games, and some equipment (Jerseys? Yes! Hats? Nope! We didn’t say it made sense!). However, the incremental costs of taking a varsity team to Florida—airfare, hotel stays, tournament entry fees, rental costs, meals, and national-level competition—are above and beyond what district budgets can cover.
- Not all programs have equal access to the “extras.” Some sports (especially those with state or national exposure) rely heavily on fundraising to meet additional competitive expectations. Baseball is one of those.
- Community participation is a choice. Sponsorship is voluntary and reflects how the community can enhance the opportunities our athletes experience. It’s not a replacement of public funding—it’s a supplement that allows us to reach higher.
- Direct accountability. As boosters, we are accountable. You see where funds are applied, and you get tangible recognition in return. We aren’t an opaque entity; we are your neighbors, local families, and business partners working on behalf of local youth.
In short: yes, taxes support the foundation of school athletics; but to compete and give our players a true high-level experience (especially one involving lodging and rounds of out-of-state competition), we need community support beyond the baseline.
